In Skyspace – 1978 – Kish Island (Iran)

Commissioned by the late Empress of Iran H.I.M. Farah Dhiba Pahlavi for their private airport in Kish Island, in the Persian Gulf.

As though made from fragments of the blue sky over Kish, caught in golden shifts of the sun’s rays, the flying forms suggest movements of inhabitants of the air: birds, clouds, planes satellites, travelling like migrants above our eyes. 20’X10’ blue enameled aluminum and 22kt gold-filled wires.
