Ex Stasis – 1988 – Venice Biennale, now at Marquette University, Milwaukee (WI)

Commissioned by professor Luigi Carendente, director of the Venice Biennale. "Ex Stasis" was originally shown in Venice during the 1988 Biennale and now placed in front of the Alumni Memorial Union at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

A stainless steel, gold-plated cable and aluminum sculpture donated by Richard Lippold to Marquette University on the occasion of his retrospective exhibition at the Haggerty Museum in 1991. The artist described the work as a "symbolic celebration of the human spirit".
