Flora Raris – 1975 –Hyatt Regency Hotel, Atlanta (GA)

The Hyatt Regency in Atlanta was designed by John Portman and completed in 1967. This was the first contemporary atrium hotel in the world and revolutionized hotel design.

Using the column of an existing fountain as a stem for this large flower, the artist responded to the circular forms of any elements in the space. Half the height of the lobby, its aspect changes from above and below or from the moving elevators.
